Hotei Buddha 
this Buddha is made from Imariyaki. 
Imariyaki is made using the Imari porcelain technique. Imari  is a type of Japanese porcelain known for its vibrant, multicolored designs and export history.
Hotei, also known as the Fat Buddha or Bodhisattva of Prosperity, and is a popular figure in Japanese art and culture, often depicted with a large belly and a sack overflowing with treasures.

Imari Ware Background
Origin: Imari ware emerged in the late 16th century in the Arita region of Kyushu, Japan.
Distinctive Styles: Imari ware includes various styles like Koimari, Kakiemon, and Nabesima, each with its own unique design characteristics. 
Export History: Imari ware gained popularity in Europe and was exported through Dutch and Chinese trading outposts. 
 
Present Day: Imari ware continues to be produced and is valued for its beauty, craftsmanship, and historical significance.
 
This Buddha has been in my family for over 60 years. My mother purchased it while starting her business in Hawaii. She became very successful. Place Hotei in the East and rub his belly.
Unfortunately, I have no descendants to pass this on to.  Hotei buddha will be happy in your home. He is vintage old Buddha
