Calendula: A cool season plant, associated with the sun-a fire element, has a bitter, pungent and drying affect. She has the ability to move the blood.
Pick her flowers in the noon time to strengthen the heart.
Calendula, aka Poor mans saffron can be used to color foods, soups, rice, and even hair.
She is also associated with the Virgin Mary, as she was used in religious festivals and was referred to as Mary’s Gold.
In ceremonies she can be used in consecration, divination, legal matters, dream protection and psychic powers.
